Mark your calendars! And be sure to add your email to our list
(if you haven't already) to stay in-the-loop!
The Ranch Roundup has become the community event we all wished for, and it is due entirely to the long hours and commitment made by our many devoted volunteers. Would you consider joining us? We need help before, during and after the event, and any amount of time you can commit we are grateful for! Please drop us a line and let us know how you would like to contribute!
If it feels like this summer has grabbed the bit in its mouth and is bolting for the gate, you’re not alone. But whether we’re ready or not, Ranch Roundup entries will open Tuesday, August 1.
There are just a couple of changes this year:
- We have added a youth 12 & under “Green as Grass Reining” class on Sunday. Please see the Events page for a description.
- You can sign up and pay for overnight pens for your horses along with your class entries. Note that as in previous years, this is restricted to participants coming from outside of Monterey County.
HAZEL MOUNTAIN: Saturday Sept 9, 4-6 pm Hazel Mountain will play at the Roundup! Featuring guitarists Craig Collord and Lee Tuten and fiddler Rebecca Stone.
Wow! They’re here, and GORGEOUS!
We are delighted to announce our judges for this year’s Ranch Roundup:
MIKE LUND of San Luis Obispo, CA will judge Cutting on Saturday, and Ranch Horse, Buckaroo and Reining classes on Sunday.
BRUCE SANDIFER of Santa Barbara, CA will judge the Old Style Reata Roping on Sunday.
PATTY KNUDSON of Paso Robles, CA will judge Ranch Trail & Ranch Riding on Saturday.
Finally, HECK HURLEY of King City will be our Calf Doctor official!
